Court to start prosecution Nov. 11 of mason for defiling and killing girl An Accra District Court has set the 9th of next month to begin the committal proceedings of a 22 year old mason, Lucas Agboyie accused of murdering an eight year old girl and also defiling her. The case has been before the court for more than a year without any progress. Chief State Attorney, Francis Takyi Mensah told the court that the original case docket is not yet before the Attorney General to start the preparation of the bill of indictment. She therefore pleaded with the court for an adjournment for definite start of the committal process. Lucas confessed in court to killing the eight year old girl after which he defiled her at Atadeka in Ashaiman. He has been charged with murder. The accused alleged that he strangled the girl until she became unconscious and then had sex with her for about three hours. The incident occurred on the 19th of April last year. On that fateful day, the victim was on her way to buy bread when the accused pulled her into his container he uses as his abode and demanded to have sex with her. When she refused, and started screaming, Lucas strangled her and then defiled her. GBC
