The Daily Graphic entreats all the political Parties to abide by Act 574 of the constitution which calls on all parties to have branches in all regions of the country and must be organised in not less than two thirds of the districts in each region. The paper says this directive may have ruffled the feathers of political parties which have still not been able to expand their presence across the country as required by law but it believes that the non-complying parties will have the law to contend with. The Daily Graphic is of the view that this law do well to place the few political parties that are serious and are ready to be voted for. The Graphic says it is not disputing the fact that the smaller parties also contribute their quota to the development of the country's democracy but it believes the least they can do to promote fair, balanced and efficient elections is to obey the Political Parties Law. 

The Ghanaian Times is not happy about the former first lady Nana Kunadu Agyemang Rawlings labelling of journalists as bribe takers. The paper said Mrs Rawlings depended on the media to be where she is today and she has no excuse to brand the media as bribe takers. The paper said recounted the struggle the media encountered in the days of her time as a first lady. The paper is therefore drawing the former first lady attention to the fact that there are very good, upright and principled journalists who will not trade the ethics of the profession on cheap cash. The Ghanaian Times warned Mrs Rawlings to desist from tagging all media practitioners as corrupt. 

The Today expresses worry about the high tariffs and the numerous complaints that come with it. The paper agrees with the Association of Ghana Industries call on government to address the issue with all urgency since it is having a great toll on individuals and industry. The PURC, ECG and the Ghana Water Company must also ensure proper billing system in order to ensure fairness relief for consumers. Though the paper agrees that the current power stability involves some extra cost to the utility providers, it does not give to unnecessary over billing.

GBC
