Gender Ministry picks up 34 Street Children

In response to a story on GBC 24, the Ministry of Gender, Children and social protection on Monday deployed the police to relocate over thirty children to a foster home at Madina near Accra. 

A fortnight ago on GBC24's Saturday night programme, ‘My Journey,’ one of the network's journalists Shirley Annan reported from the airport city in Accra, where a number  of children have taken to begging and living on the street, some for more than three years have indulged in prostitution, stealing and even the use of marijuana.
