Hypertension cases on the rise in Eastern Region

The Eastern Regional Health Directorate recorded 109,969 hypertension cases in the year 2015 with 30 patients losing their lives to the disease. 

459 of the victims also had stroke as a result of hypertension. 

The Deputy Director of Nursing at the Eastern Regional Health Administration, Dorcas Laryea, revealed this at a durbar to mark the 2016 World Hypertension Day at Krobo Odumase in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the region.
