Debate Re-Opens On Need For All Ghanaians To Own National Identification Cards

The Limited Voter Registration has once again re-opened the debate on the need for every Ghanaian citizen to be issued with a National Identification Card. 

The issue of guarantors for some applicants has been challenging, especially for first time voters who have turned eighteen with most of them not having any form of Identification. 

GBC’s Rebecca Ekpe who visited some registration centres also gathered that the Voter ID Card  is also used by citizens for a myriad of other functions, apart from elections.
