Late MTTD Director General DCOP Awuni goes home 

Final funeral rites for the late Eastern Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP), Angwubutoge Awuni has been held in Accra.

The late Awuni had been heading the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service before he was transferred to the Eastern Region as Regional Police Commander.  

He died at the Police Hospital in Accra after a short illness in March. In a tribute, his wife, Florence Awuni described him as a courageous man who was loved by many Ghanaians for his passion for work. 

Radio Ghana's George Ankrah who was at the funeral grounds reports that the hierarchies of the Police Service and other security agencies as well as the clergy were there to pay their last respect.
