Inadequate facility affects mental health care in Upper West 

Lack of a mental health facility in the Upper West Region is impeding the delivery of quality healthcare for mentally-ill patients.

The region is unable to admit mentally-ill patients except those with acute and severe mental illness.

Some are attended to on OPD basis and sometimes transferred to the southern sector for treatment.
