THE DAILY GRAPHIC: wonders whether every eligible voter will be able to register by the closing day Sunday, 8th May  given the challenges of limited logistics inadequate registration centres and disturbances at some centres.  The paper believes it will not be out of place for the Electoral Commission to make alternative arrangements for those who would not be able to register on the closing date to do so.  The paper finds it incomprehensible that the registration exercise is embroiled in violence in some areas because certain people are perceived to belong to opposing political parties.  The Graphic urges political parties to give room to the EC to carry out its duties.  It also calls on IPAC to help halt the phenomenon of machomen before it gets out of hand.
                                    
THE GHANAIAN TIMES:  describes the Inspector General of Police, John Kudalor as very determined to carve a new image for the Ghana Police service. The Paper says, his effort at trying to re-orientate his personel to change their way of doing things in order to erase public perception about them is in the right direction. The Times says the Ghana Police Service has a crucial role to play in ensuring the success of the November General Election. The Paper advises  police personnel assigned to monitor the election to exhibit  high level of professionalism and neutrality to win the trust of the public.
