UG Vice Chancellor appointed to UN University Council The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Ernest Aryeetey has been appointed member of the governing Council of the United Nations University (UNU). Prof. Aryeetey is one of 12 members who were appointed by the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Director-General Irina Bokova of the UN Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). In a statement issued in New York, the new appointees, will take office on the 3rd of May 2016. They will replace the retiring 2010–2016 cohort of UNU Council members and will serve for terms of either three or six years. GBC
