Dr. Johnson Asiamah appointed second Deputy Governor of Bank of Ghana

President John Dramani Mahama, in consultation with the Council of State, has appointed Dr. Johnson Asiama Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana.  

The appointment takes effect from the 5th of this month. Dr Asiama until his elevation was the Assistant Director at the Economics Department of the Bank where he coordinated the work of the Monetary Policy Committee and supported the the Governors directly.

He holds a PHD (Economics) from the University of Southhampton UK and an MPHIL (Economics) from the University of Ghana, Legon.

He also  served as Director of the Macro Economic Management Department at the West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM) in Lagos, Nigeria.
