NDC and NPP hold divergent views on passage of CI 91

The debate on the passage of CI 91 which gives the opportunity for new voters to register in the impending limited registration exercise rages on with both the NDC and NPP holding divergent views. 

Speaking on GBC's current affairs programme, Behind the News, the MP for North Dayi and Member of the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee, George Loh, said the new voters register is only an addition to the existing one. 

He explained that the new voters list when compiled will be fused with the old one.

But the MP for Sunyani East and Member of the Subsidiary Legislation Committee of Parliament, Kwesi Kyeremeh, said CI 91 will rather result in multiple registration and other problems with  CI 73. 

This is because provisions in CI 91 are not full proof. 

He therefore called on the EC, political parties and other stakeholders to be up to the task to ensure that they stay within the law.
