ECG has not disconnected K’ Poly In reaction to the media publication that the Eastern Regional Head Office of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has disconnected Koforidua Polytechnic power, as a result of their debt, the Acting Regional Commercial Manager of the company, Emmanuel Sam, has debunked the assertion claiming that his outfit has not embarked on any such exercise. He emphatically said that there is no technical hitch that might have resulted in the disconnection. Mr. Sam explained that, a dialogue between the Regional Management of ECG and top echelon of Koforidua Polytechnic was held in the presence of the immediate Past Regional Minister, Antwi Bosiako Sekyere, on October 1, 2015, which both parties agreed that the Polytechnic would be allowed to pay their monthly bills and in February this year, a significant percentage of the outstanding bill of 750 thousand Ghana cedis will be paid while the rest are spread over a period of six months. According to Mr. Sam all efforts taken for the Polytechnic to pay their outstanding debt has proved futile. GBC
