Ace Ghanaian Reggae Artist launches Album for peaceful elections 2016


 
Ace Ghanaian Reggae Artist, Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi, has launched his maiden musical album with a call on Ghanaians to desist from activities that could threaten the peace and stability of the country. 
     
The album, launched in Accra brought together entertainment personalities and key government officials to support a campaign the musician will begin in June this year dubbed: "Ghana is Calling-Nation Peace Tour 2016.'' 
     
The peace tour is across the length and breadth of the country to preach the essence of peace in the November 7 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections. 
     
The musical album titled "Have Faith" is a wakeup call to the people of Africa and the Diaspora, and a hope for the hopeless and a call on individuals to work hard. 
     
It has five tracks namely: “Ghana is calling, How long?, Life is a beach, JAH Sacred Feast and Simbelly Man. 
     
Addressing the gathering, Ras Appiah-Levi noted that Reggae music and other genre of music could be used effectively as a tool for the engine of development of the nation and continent as a whole and could address issues that would help develop and become productive taps of the world. 
     
Ras Appiah-Levi said Ghana is like an oasis of peace in a sub region racked by violence and conflict “and therefore we need to urgently maintain it that way. Peace, unity and economic development are a necessary requirement for the upliftment of the social status of the people of this country”. 
     
He explained that this could be achieved through the collective efforts of all people who value peace and development to put their shoulder to the wheel of progress to move our nation forward and also there is the need for people from different ethnic, religious, political or social backgrounds to live in harmony and bear in mind the need for unity of purpose to move the nation forward. 
     
“When the mystery and history of the next general of election comes to be written, it would be said that musicians also played a part to ensure peace”, he added. 
     
Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts lauded Ras and all musicians for their numerous efforts to the contribution of the upliftment of the Tourism Industry and to the development of Ghana. 
      
She urged  Ghanaians to love one another and continue to live in peace and harmony.
