Juventus eyeing Italian double, says Asamoah The reigning Serie A champions want to retain the title and claim the Coppa Italia, according to the Ghana playmaker Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah says his club is eying success in both the Serie A and the Coppa Italia. With eight more matches to close of the season, the Old Lady hold a three-point lead on the league standings, having also beaten Inter Milan on penalties to book a date in the final of the cup competition where they come up against AC Milan. Juventus’ season, however, began on a poor note, winning only one of their opening six league games. “It won’t be easy,” Asamoah told SkySports on his team’s ambitions. “We started badly, then succeeded in a great comeback. Now we can’t throw away what we’ve done. At the end, all that counts is who wins. “We’ll have to make an extra effort in these last eight games. They will all be difficult and to get the Scudetto, we’ll have to win at least seven but we’re ready. “The double? We’ll try. It won’t be easy to repeat it after last year, but we’ll work hard to achieve it.” The Italian giants could have been competing for three titles but were eliminated in the last 16 of the Uefa Champions League by Bayern Munich. Asamoah has made five league appearances this season. GOAL
