Yeji bound ferry with passengers sinking on Volta Lake 

A ferry carrying about 500 passengers on its way to Yeji is reportedly sinking on the Volta Lake.

Two boats have since been sent to evacuate the passengers.

Aside the passengers, the ferry is also carrying about four loaded cargo trucks and three other vehicles.

A stranded passenger told an Accra based radio station that the passengers have been struggling to board a second boat which had come to the scene to evacuate passengers.

He said the ferry was filled with water at the base and water was still coming into it.
