SSNIT assures of adequate financial resources to ensure stress free retirement

The Director General of SSNIT, Ernest Thompson says the Trust has adequate financial resources to meet future demands. 

He however cautions that Ghana`s increasing older population require a continuous inflow of resources. 

Mr Thompson was speaking at the launch of SSNIT’s 50 year anniversary, Themed "50 years of security in Ghana". 

He said SSNIT has contributed significantly to the Ghanaian economy and has also seen the pension population increase from about 900 in 1992 to almost 150,000 currently. 

As part of its 50th anniversary, SSNIT will among other activities organize a forum on "Social Security, then, now and beyond".
