Governments resolve to end poverty and food insecurity Heads of states across the globe have renewed their commitment to end extreme poverty and hunger amongst their people. In Ghana, the three regions of the north are government's focus as these regions are cited as the poorest and the most hunger stricken in the country. At a flag raising ceremony to commemorate the 35th World Food Day in Accra, Food and Agriculture Minister, Fiifi Kwetey, said the levels of poverty and hunger among rural people is unacceptable in an era of scientific and technological advancement.
