Utility Companies engage TUC and PURC over possible tariff adjustments

Some utility companies are making a case to the Trade Unions Congress and the PURC on the need for tariff adjustment.

The Volta River Authority and Gridco are meeting with the TUC and PURC and have been explaining the need for an increase in utility prices.

However the TUC is resisting the  increment arguing that salaries of workers cannot support such upward adjustment.

The Director of Planning at the Volta River Authority, Kofi Ellis, making a case for the VRA said the money needed by the VRA for the generation of power is woefully inadequate as a result of expansion in electricity supply which shot up from six point five percent to ten percent putting a lot of pressure on the VRA to meet the growing demand.
 
A principal Analyst at GRIDCO Kofi Owuredu has also been explaining Gridco`s position.
