EU Agrees 'Action Plan' To Ease Migrant Crisis The European Union has offered Turkey €3bn in aid and the prospect of easier travel visas. It hopes this action plan for Turkey will ease the flow of migrants to Europe. Nearly 600,000 migrants have reached the EU by sea so far this year, many of them travelling from Turkey to Greece before seeking to head for the north. Turkey has made a number of demands in exchange for helping to stem the flow. At a press conference in Brussels, the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk said he is cautiously optimistic about the deal. BBC
