64% of rural communities benefit from improved water supply Sixty four percent of rural communities in six regions have benefited from improved water supply at the cost of 852 thousand dollars. This is made up of 27, 555 boreholes, 636 pipe borne schemes and 526 Ghana Water Company Limited rural connections. The Sector Minister, Dr. Kwaku Agyeman Mensah, stated this at a forum on the state of Rural Water Services in the country. He said government will continue to invest in the sub-sector despite the huge amount of funds already sank into the provision of rural infrastructure to bring water to the door steps of rural communities.
