Government Releases Fund For Payment Of Striking Nurses Salary Arrears 

The Coalition of Unpaid nurses and midwives group say they are still on strike because government has not yet paid the arrears owed them. 

The leader of the group, Theophilus Doe, told Radio Ghana that the said monies have not reached the health facilities yet.  

According to him, the affected nurses will return to work as soon as the money hits their bank accounts.  

Reacting to the Coalition of unpaid nurses and midwives group the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Tony Goodman, said the money for the psychiatric nurses has been paid into a special account for payment. 

He explained that monies for other nurses and midwives would be paid at the end of this month. Mr. Goodman asked the nurses to return to work as the process for payment is completed.
