Prison Council not to encourage conjugal rights for prisoners The Chairman of the Prison's Service Council, Reverend Dr Stephen Wengam says the council will not encourage the enjoyment of conjugal rights by inmates of the country's prisons so far as the country's laws do not permit. In an interview with Radio Ghana, Reverend Dr Wengam said the denial of such rights, forms part of the punishment of prisoners and called on people to think through their actions before engaging in acts that could send them to prison. On plans to extend telephone facilities to inmates of the country's prisons, Rev Dr Wengam said it will be done with circumspection to prevent abuse. GBC
