7th October, 2015 The Daily Graphic commends President Mahama for making Ghana proud at the international stage. It says the praises showered on him by the French President Francois Hollande is sport on. The Paper says in the wake of many challenges in recent times, government is putting in place measures to stabilize the economy. The Paper therefore calls on every Ghanaian to be proud of President Mahama's exemplary leadership. It also appeals to the President to restore hope to the people through the transformation agenda. The Ghanaian Times says the Ghanaian economy has been hit hard throughout the year due to the shortage of hard currency inflows. But there seem to be good news with the arrival of the 800 million dollar cocoa syndicated loan. The Paper says as the year approaches its end, Ghanaians must have confidence and desist from speculating doom for the local economy. The Times is optimistic that the cedi would respond positively, thus halting its decline. The General Telegraph urges experts in the energy sector to work diligently toward the establishment of an appropriate generation mix that would result in a national self-sufficiency in energy. According to the Paper, it is necessary to address the issue of power, to encourage greater investment in power generation. The General Telegraph shares the widely held view that potential private power producers will only invest in the sector if there is an attractive energy tariff regime. This regime must also be incorporated in a formula that would ensure that energy is not rendered inaccessible to the disadvantaged in society. GBC
