Water level in Akosombo dam is down


The water level in the Akosombo dam is down to two hundred and forty-one feet.  This enables the facility to generate about six hundred megawatts of electricity. 
 
At its peak the plant generates a maximum of one thousand two hundred megawatts of electricity every day.  

In an interview with Radio Ghana, the Chief Executive of the VRA, Kirk Kofi said to augment the shortfall, the Authority is bringing in generators to produce electricity until the water level improves by July.
