Boko Haram raids Cameroon army base Reports say fighters from the Nigerian armed group, Boko Haram have launched an attack on a military base in the Cameroonian city of Kolofata. The attack came a day after blasts struck a market in Nigeria's Yobe state, one of the three northeastern states repeatedly targeted by the Boko Haram Islamist group. People started fleeing the city when they heard the heavy gunfire. Cameroon's Communication Minister and Government Spokesperson, Issa Tchiroma, says between 200 and 300 Boko Haram fighters were killed in the attack. Mr Tchiroma added that Cameroonian soldiers also seized heavy military equipment and vehicles from Boko Haram. ALJAZEERA
