Finance Minister Assures Ghanaians Proceeds From Eurobond Are Secured

The Minister of Finance, Seth Terkper has stated that proceeds from the Euro bond are in New York account of the Bank of Ghana. 

He debunked reports that the money is missing and called on the media to be circumspect in their reports as such negative comments affect the image of the country. 

The Minister said this at a post-budget forum on provisions in the 2015 budget in Accra. 

Meanwhile, journalists have again been asked to re-examine the practice of the profession in the country today to see whether they are doing service or disservice to the nation. 

This is because the disregard for the basic principles of professionalism leaves much to be desired.

These remarks were made by the General Manager of the GNA, Dr Bernard Otabil at a post broadcasting lecture in Accra. 

He told Radio Ghana that if the current trend of irresponsible journalism does not change it will compel laws to be made to regulate the media landscape.
