ECOWAS Common External Tariff to kick off in 2015 

All is set for the smooth take off of the ECOWAS Common External Tariff, CET as Finance Ministers and Director Generals of customs of ECOWAS member- states have met to finalise preparations towards the implementation of the CET by January 2015.  

Addressing delegates at the meeting in Accra, the Minister of Finance, Seth Tekper, said the ECOWAS Common External Tariff will deepen trade relations among member states.  

He urged member countries to examine the CET critically in order to address possible challenges in the future.
