PPA launches programme to uphold high ethical standards The Public Procurement Authority (PPA) has launched the Ghana branch of the Institute of Procurement and Supply Chain, a programme tailored to ensure professionalism, high ethical standards and transparency in the procurement profession. A procurement specialist, Professor Douglas Boateng said until Ghana takes procurement seriously, the power crisis, health challenges, educational imbalance, graduate unemployment and other headaches facing Ghana cannot be solved. He said South Africa for instance, has used procurement to break governance barriers and improved its economy. Dr Boateng believes Ghana can do same if procurement professionals move beyond being just paper pushers to effective and critical thinkers. GBC
