Health Minister Assures Sustainability of NHIS


The Minister of Health Dr. Kweku Agyeman Mensah says the Ministry
is going all out to improve upon the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS to ensure it is sustainable. He says the NHIA is constantly reviewing the terms of claims of the scheme, so as to reduce delays in the payment of claims. He said this when he was granted audience in parliament to answer some queries in his sector. 

Dr. Agyeman-Mensah said four strategies are being employed to decrease the long delays in claim repayment.

Dr. Agyeman Mensah also touching on the collection of levies for the scheme, said five hundred and 50 million Ghana cedis of the levies had been released this year.

Minister of Health Dr. kweku Agyeman Mensan answers however, didn’t satisfy the MPs and so the Speaker instructed that he be invited back.
