DOVVSU worried about increasing cases of domestic violence Cases of Domestic Violence continue to increase annually in Ghana. Last year alone Ghana recorded about 18,755 cases of rape and defilement among others. The situation according to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit, DOVVSU, of the Ghana Police Service is appalling. The Head of DOVVSU, ASP Lawerencia Akorli, said the greater challenge undermining its work is the inability of victims to report perpetrators of such crimes to the police. She cautioned families of victims to stop influencing them to settle cases at home as this does not help to check cases of assault. GBC
