Police ready to maintain peaceful atmosphere during the NPP's presidential primaries As the NPP, prepares to elect a flag bearer for the 2016 general election, the Ghana police service is deploying two thousand policemen, to the 275 polling stations designated for the presidential primaries on Saturday. The policemen will be deployed to at least groups of five for each polling centre on the Election Day. This will include patrol and stand-by and one thousand 375 policemen for the polling stations and others at the NPP headquarters, regional centres and the declaration centre. Deputy Commissioner of police in charge of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, David Ampah Benin who disclosed this said regional police commonders will be in commend of operations within their jurisdiction, while tactical operations on the ground at the polling stations will be overseen by officers in charge. DCOP Ampah Bennin said the police would be employing a tactical operation that would involve a three-tier deployment strategy one hundred and forty one thousand, 432 delegates are expected to cast their ballots for their preferred candidates from 7am.to 3pm.
