Ghana joins International Community to mark disaster reduction day. The National Co-ordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization, Kofi Portophy says his organisation is working closely with the health authorities in preparing against any case of Ebola outbreak. He has also called for the intensification of checks at the ports and borders of the country to prevent the disease from entering the country. Mr. Portophy spoke in Accra on the commemoration of International Disaster Reduction Day which is today. In relation to the theme for this year's celebration which is Getting Elderly People involved in residence building, the Chief Disaster Control Officer of NADMO, Asomaning Odei Mensah said plans are underway to work with the retired people in society for development.
