Atuabo Gas will not completely solve Ghana’s energy problem

The Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Mines and Energy, Dr. Kwabena Donkor, says it is not true that the coming on board of the Atuabo Gas will completely address the country's energy problems.

He said the Atuabo Plant can fuel about 70 percent of the gas needed to generate the energy needs in the Aboadze corridor alone.

The plant expansion will still have to depend on some other sources to generate the 30 percent therefore making it untrue that the Atuabo gas will be the panacea to the country's energy crisis.

Dr. Donkor's point was supported by other energy experts at a round table in Accra to discuss the way forward in addressing the energy crisis.
