World Sight Day The Minister of Health, Dr. Kweku Agyeman Mensah has urged the Ghana Health Service to speed up the process of integrating eye care services into all primary health care facilities and programmes. Launching this year's World Sight Day in Accra, Dr. Agyeman Mensah believes this will help create more awareness on blindness prevention, empower health workers at the primary level to provide basic eye services in deprived communities and reduce avoidable blindness in Ghana. He stressed that attaining universal eye health coverage is a shared responsibility and so Ghanaians should be responsible for their eye health needs. Source: GBC
