Actress Naa Ashorkor Marries Best Friend

Indeed a Ghanaian Actress, Naa Ashorkor on Saturday married her best friend, Mr. Ahuma Cabutey Adodoadji, a Brand Communications Manager at Millicom in a traditional ceremony attended by family members and some celebrity friends. 

The actress met Cabutey when both of them were students at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ). He was in his final year and 'grabbed' her the very first day she stepped foot on campus. They initially started as best friends but became lovers two years later, and have since dated for seven years.

Naa Ashorkor currently hosts the mid-morning show on Starr 103.5 FM and has been in the broadcast media for six years now.

She said Cabutey is intelligent, "he's super smart; he has a great brain and I think that's what drives me crazy,' Naa Ashorkor told Starr FM, adding that she was happy they will spend the rest of their lives together.

'Generally, I feel different things at different times. Sometimes I'm extremely excited, sometimes I feel happy and sometimes I feel some calmness in my heart because I feel that I'm finally going to legally spend the rest of my life with my best friend and someone I have known for years, love and appreciate…At other times I feel confused. I think it's a natural thing. But more than anything, I am happy." She said

The actress said though her childhood fantasies about her ideal man are different from what Cabutey possesses, she is happy and thankful to God for bringing him into her life.

"I realise now that what I thought I wanted is not actually what I want. I'm a very simple girl and I appreciate simplicity in everything. So I realise now that I just want someone I can be happy with and that's what I have and I'm grateful to God for giving me this …I have the best conversations in my life with him. And I think he likes the fact that we can talk for hours about nothing and still have a great conversation," she explained.

Naa Ashorkor has acted movies such as Adams Apple, Checkmate, Perfect Picture and Scorned— all produced by ace producer Shirley Frimpong-Manso.

She also runs her own show, 'Tales From the Powder Room', on GH-One Television, which deals with everyday women issues ranging from home, office to relationships.

Reports say a date for a 'white wedding' will be announced soon.
