Nana Akufo Addo and NPP Nasara wing extend greetings to muslims The 2012 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has advised all to take advantage of the Muslim month of Zhul-Hijja to pray for the success of Ghana. The Islamic religious rite of Hajj and Eid-ul-Adha are observed in this month. Nana Addo in a statement to wish Muslims well called on all to pledge to the forward movement of Ghana. “I pray that the spirit of sacrifice that goaded Prophet Ibrahim to accept God’s command to sacrifice his son Ishmael will continue to animate our activities and dealings with one another as faithfuls of God and as citizens of Ghana.” He acknowledged that Prophet Ibrahim is the father of Christians, Jews and Muslims. “I, therefore, pray for peace and unity between us as we reflect on the life of one of the most obedient servants of God.” In a related development the Nasara Wing of the New Patriotic Party wishes to extend our warmest greetings and congratulations to all Muslims in Ghana and the World, on the eve of this year's Eid-ul-Adha celebrations. They also wish all pilgrims this year, a successful Hajj and asked for the Almighty Allah’s acceptance to their prayers and a safe journey back home. This was contained in a statement issued in Accra. “It is our prayer and hope that people everywhere will embrace the spirit of devotion and sacrifice that the Eid-ul-Adha embodies, as we all continue with our efforts to achieving peaceful coexistence among all humankind in a compassionate and selfless manner.” The statement said “Again, it is our duty as Muslims to offer supplications to Allah for the development of our dear country and also use these times to pray fervently for good health, advancement as a people and prosperity for all.” It added The Eid is scheduled for Saturday, October 4.
