Two Ghanaian pastors vie for Bishops of Western West-Africa.

Two Ghanaian pastors of the AME Zion church are set to break the more than 140 year dominance of the administration of the church by presiding Bishops who were from the Americas.

This follows the decision adopted in the US by the College of Bishops of the AME Zion church to open the doors for indigenous West Africans to contest for the position of the Presiding prelate of the Western West Africa Episcopal District in 2016.

The Episcopal District consists of Ghana, Togo, Cote d’Ivoire and Liberia.

The contestants are Rev.Dr.Hilliard Dela Dogbe and Rev. Dr. Richard Gadzekpo.

The current Presiding Bishop, Rt. Rev. Seth Lartey has officially outdoored the two Ghanaian contestants at a delegates conference held at the Aggrey Memorial AME Zion Church at Mamprobi in Accra.

This is how Rev. Lartey described the two pastors who are vying for Bishops of Western West-Africa.

In their brief remarks, both Rev. Dr. Dogbey and Rev. Dr. Gadzekpo pledged their commitment to help with the growth of the church to continue to play critical roles in national and sub-regional development.
