About 1119 Iraqis killed in September Over 1,100 Iraqis were killed and another 1,900 injured in acts of terrorism and violence in Iraq in September. The figures released by the UN mission in Iraq, UNAMI, show that over 850 civilians were among the dead. A further 265 members of the Iraqi Security Forces were killed. Baghdad was the worst affected governorate. The figures do not include casualties in Anbar where the militant group ISIL is currently active. ISIL is accused of widespread violations in the region including murder, and summary executions. Iraq continues to suffer from instability after US forces left the country in 2011.
