The Daily Graphic finds it very difficult to accept the revised upward adjustment in utility tariffs for the fourth quarter of this year by the PURC. It says it begs to differ strongly from the reasons given by the PURC for the increase. The Graphic insists that the services offered by ECG and the Ghana Water Company are of such poor quality that the upward adjustment are simply unacceptable. 

The Ghanaian Times is happy that experts in the fight against Ebola from the UN in Accra and will be immediately deployed to the affected countries to help avert the spread of the disease and treat infected persons. It urges the governments of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea to provide the required leadership and build the trust of their citizenry through education. 

The Today Newspaper is worried at the upsurge in childhood cancers. The paper says the increasing cases of the disease in the country are having serious effect on the economy and also raises questions about the country's preparedness in dealing with health issues. The paper says the alarming childhood cancer cases reported yearly require urgent attention from government and all stakeholders. It calls on government to always set national priorities right especially to provide quality healthcare services. 

The Business And Financial Times says pineapple producers are experiencing serious challenges since the introduction of the MD2 species as opposed to the smooth cayennes species. It says lack of access to constant supply of water and the right fertilizer applications are limiting the capacity of farmers currently engaged in pineapple production. The paper appeals to government to provide adequate water and fertilizer to help boost production of this variety which has wide market internationally.
