LEAP extension initiated The Ministry of Gender, Children and social protection is extending its coverage of beneficiaries under the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) to include pregnant women and infants in extreme poor households. The initiative, dubbed "LEAP 1000", is an intervention meant to prevent stunted growth, underweight and general malnutrition among children during the first one thousand days of their lives.
