Fire outbreak destroys properties in Tema and Sakumono

An inferno has razed down a house, said to belong to one Reverend George Gunn, at Tema Community 20, destroying almost all personal effects. 

Among the items destroyed were two 2014 model Mercedes-Benz cars. 

According to the Station Officer of the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Fire Command, Mark Nii-Kwei, it took the combined personnel of LEKMA and Tema close to three-and-half hours to bring the fire, which started at about 8:30am under control.

He said the cause of the outbreak is not immediately known; however investigations have commenced.

In a related incident, fire gutted a 100-footer-container at Sakumono; completely destroying its contents, mainly cooking utensils, books and roofing sheets.

An Assistant Divisional Officer of the Tema Industrial Area Command of the National Fire Service, Samuel Oppong, told Obonu News what happened.
