Cordial Relationship Restored Between Police And Media In Ashanti Region The PRO of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, ASP Yusif Tanko, says there is cordial relationship between the police and media in the region. He said the police will always do everything to ensure that journalists are protected and go about their duties without any hindrance. ASP Tanko who made the comment in the wake of the assault on a Graphic Reporter by Baffour Gyan and three others said journalists are key stakeholders and should not be hindered in their work. The Police will ensure that those who assault or infringe on the rights of journalists are brought to book. Meanwhile, Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa, Sulley Braimah, said the GJA and the Police in Kumasi must be commended for acting swiftly to bring perpetuators of the assault to book. He said under no circumstance should anyone be assaulted by the public for asking a question. He said the question rather provided the platform for Asamoah Gyan to explain himself on the disappearance of Castro. GBC
