The Daily Graphic draws attention to the importance of an effective road transportation system to the economy. It says when other means of transportation such as rail, air and water are underdeveloped, there is always pressure on road transport leading to needless accidents and increased cost of doing business. The paper cites last week's accident on the Nkawkaw-Kumasi road as a point of reference and says it is important that the roads are made safe. The Graphic particularly commends moves by the Ghana Police Service to restore sanity on the roads and end the carnage that threatens lives and property. 

The Ghanaian Times says it is worrying that Ghana which boasts to be the beacon of Africa is still wallowing in deprivation. It says it is a stark reality that many homes in Ghana lack toilet facilities. Making reference to statistics, the Times says it is sad that about 16 percent of household use other means of defecation while as much as 23 percent defecate at the beaches, refuse dumps and other open spots. The paper points out that this current trend shows that Metropolitan, Municipal and District assemblies have woefully failed in the discharge of their responsibilities to the people. Because they have not ensured that every household has basic facilities as toilets and washrooms to guarantee the people's good health. 

“The Missing Ingredient in the Cholera Fight” is how the Today's Newspaper titles its editorial. The paper says the fight against cholera is becoming catastrophic as many new infections are recorded daily. The paper thinks although many organisations have begun educational campaigns on cholera, the increased number of cases of the disease is indicative that the message is not well understood and thus making no impact. The Today Newspaper says it is time an improved measure was implemented to achieve good results. It says it is time, that authorities re-introduced the town council system as a solution to the problem.
