Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission Celebrates Eid-Ul-Fitr Hundreds of Muslims around Ashongman and its surroundings in Accra on Monday converged at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Conference Centre for the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, Acting Head and Missionary in-charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana, led the congregation to offer the Eid Prayers. In his sermon, Maulvi Bin Salih said the challenges that nations are confronted with shakes the foundation of their nationhood, hence becoming a threat to their existence. He said trials and tribulations are the necessary elixir of the optimistic, faithful, sincere and a dedicated people and as such; challenges are a wake-up call and a means of testing waters of resolve and determination. Maulvi Bin Salih said there is the need for people to acknowledge the hand of the Almighty Allah at work and turn to him, adding: “We need to worship Allah, sing His praises and beseech Him for salvation, much more in the face of our current predicament.” He said Ghanaians must supplicate in prostration before the Almighty Allah, and back up the prostration with hard work in an intensive manner, to help rescue mother Ghana from the abyss of economic down turn. The Acting Head and Missionary in-charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana urged all to determinedly stand united as a people with a common destiny to exert every sinew and, prayerfully salvage mother Ghana. Mr Rashid Pelpuo, Member of Parliament (MP) for Wa Central, who represented President John Dramani Mahama, said there are no doubts that Ghana had remained stable and peaceful as a result of the type of leadership provided by religious institutions. The MP, who is also a Minister of State in charge of Private Public Partnership explained that the level of tolerance and compassion demonstrated by these leaders especially from the Christian community, have contributed to peace and security in the country. Mr Pelpuo on behalf of government commended Muslims for going through the period of spiritual upliftment successfully, and was confident that all the spiritual devotions and prayers presented have received and would continue to receive appropriate response by the Almighty Allah.
