A human rights group says Street children in Uganda face constant abuse from police and other government officials, Police beat children with whips and wires, jailed them, and extort bribes from them. A report by Human Rights Watch said street boys and girls are raped by men and older boys. The group said scores of street children fear the authorities and that the police are a source of violence, and not protection.
