Gov’ t does not in any way under estimate concerns and agitations of its citizens - Dotse Malor Head of Communications and Presidential Spokesperson Ben Dotse Malor has assured Ghanaians that government does not in any way under estimate the concerns and agitations of its citizens. He said President Mahama is a good listener and he is seriously considering the plight of Ghanaians. Mr. Malor was speaking on UNIIQ Breakfast Drive following Tuesdays demonstrations. Mr. Malor reiterate President Mahama’s concern he expressed on latest developments in the country. According to the President, government will carry out its mandate and responsibilities in the society in spite of the economic challenges the country is facing. He said: "This is our country and this is our home...the time to act together is now for the development of the country irrespective of ethnic, gender and geographical location." President Mahama said this at a luncheon for senior citizens as part of the 54th Republic day celebrations. The annual luncheon is aimed at honoring senior citizens who have paid their dues in terms of carrying out their duties and responsibilities successfully during their working lives. President Mahama appealed to public institutions to accord senior citizens respect and courtesy. The aged, he added, could not be competing with the much younger ones for services “when our traditions and customs frown on cultural delinquency and disrespect to the aged”. The president promised to work hard to serve all categories of citizens in the country, but cautioned all to play their roles responsibly to achieve the country's development goals. GBC
