Cote d'lvoire Registers Africa's 1st Win @ On-going FIFA World Cup in Brazil as Italy also Stamps Authority on Rivals England Cote d'Ivoire have restored the pride of Africa after staging a remarkable comeback to beat Asian giants Japan by two goals to one. Keisuke Honda put Japan into the lead with a wonderful finish. Cote d'Ivoire were wasteful in the first half but Didier Drogba's arrival in the second half sparked the Elephants into life. Full-back Serge Aurier created both goals with impressive crosses from the right with Bony and Gervinho taking advantage. This morning's game was the first time Cote d'Ivoire have won their opening fixture at a World Cup. In the other Group C match, Colombia beat Greece by three goals to nil. Also honoured yesterday were matches in Group D comprising, England, Italy, Costa Rica and Uruguay. In the first match, Luis Suarez's Uruguay were astonished as they scrambled to a three one defeat at the hands of Costa Rica. In the other Group match, Ghanaian born Mario Ballotelli scored the winning goal as Italy beat England by two goals to one. In today;s fixtures, Switzerland will meet Equador as France take on Honduras in the Group E matches. In Group F, Lionel Messi's Argentina will face Bosnia Hezegovina. GBC
