Nigerian Government Beefs Up Security At Lagos Airport To Forestall Future Armed Robbery Incidents

The Nigerian government has beefed up security at the Lagos Murtala Mohammed International Airport and other areas of the airport to forestall future armed robbery incident. 

The new security measure came on the heels of the recent robbery in which two police officers and one robber were killed. 

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria yesterday ordered all the operators of Bureau de Change across airports in the country to leave the airports immediately. 

Spokesperson for the organization, Yakubu Dati told newsmen that preliminary reports have shown that the activities of operators have been attracting attention of armed robbers to the airports, adding that such would no longer be condoned. 

Mr. Dati said the organization's task force will begin to implement the order for the currency hawkers to  leave the airports.
