The Daily Graphic highlights the importance of eliminating the spate of fire outbreaks in recent times. In the Paper's view, the increase in fire outbreaks of late is disheartening. It blames the situation partly on the public's disregard for fire safety regulations particular those regarding putting up structures with fire extinguishers and inability of the Ghana National Fire Service, GNFS, to live up to expectation. In this regard, the Graphic calls on the GNFS not only to ensure strict observance of fire safety standards by property owners but also be able to swiftly determine causes of such disasters especially in the case of the latest fire at the National Institute of Information Technology, NIIT in Accra. 

The Ghanaian Times commends the Ghana Police Service for its efforts in the unravelling circumstances which led to the arrest of the two suspected murderers of a 13 year-old boy at Abuakwa in the Ashanti Region. The Paper is alarmed of the rate at which heinous crimes are committed with impunity in some communities. It says even though the police have stepped up their game with the continuous arrest of armed robbers, the problem seems to be growing from worse to worst.
