President John Evans Atta Mills has cut the sod to commission the operations of the Tema-Accra rail rehabilitation works. He also cut the sod for work to begin on the continuation of the Tema Harbour to Japan Motors rail line in community one. President Mills told the gathering that, the resumption of rail transport in the Accra-Tema Metropolis is a testimony to the NDC\'s Better Ghana Agenda. He urged workers, businessmen and market women to make good use of the services of the rail line and encouraged the management of the Railway Corporation to maintain the coaches. President Mills stated that government will not tolerate any lackadaisical maintenance culture because of the huge investments that have gone into the revamping of the rail system. He said the six coaches which can carry more than 600 passengers will go along way to ease the transportation problem of commuters. He also announced that the sod will soon be cut early next year for the reconstruction of the Western rail line from Takoradi to Paga. On his part, the Minister of Transport, Mike Hammah, spelt out the vision of the ministry for the rail line sector. GBC
